Life.

Its been forever since I have updated this blog.
Seriously FOREVER.

Our lives are busy to say the least. We moved back home to Louisiana and it has been a non stop roller coaster! Moving, new jobs, buying a new house. It has been a busy few months.
And all with a two year old.

A very active two year old.
 This boy doesn't slow down.

His favorites right now are toons. Especially "Buzz", which means Buzz Light Year from Toy Story.
He loves "Trucks" - Hot Wheels.
Oh, and freezy pops.
 He sleeps with his shoes on almost every night, sometimes rain boots.
He talks non-stop and catches on to new words quickly.

We are working on potty training and he is doing very well.

Life is good.
As busy at it has been I am so grateful for an amazing year with my little family.
I couldn't be happier.

TWO.

 This is what TWO looks like!!!

My sweet boy, I could look into those hazel eyes forever.
You are the sweetest boy. You love your mommy and daddy and we love you back times a million.
I couldn't imagine my life without your sweet smile.
Even though two is challenging, we sure are going to miss these days one day when you are all grown up.
You know how to keep us on our toes!!!

{Fall Bucket List - Jones Orchard.}

Pennington Fall Bucket List 2014

 I love fall.
Everything is better in fall.
The weather is better. The crisp air in the mornings feels amazing and it's just cool enough to layer your clothes. By the way - I seriously love layering clothes. The colors of the trees are better, I love red, orange and yellow trees. Starbucks is even better in the fall. Food is better. Everything is seriously better!

Winter, blah. Least favorite season. But lets not even think about that right now.
Let's just focus on fall and our family bucket list this season!

First week of Fall and we already check one thing off of our list!

Apple picking at Jones Orchard!

My baby (toddler?, no no, no....still my baby!) is putting his sixteen teeth to good use these days!
This was his first real apple. I'm pretty certain that he liked it.

I love his sweet face so much.

I know that he will never remember these moments, but I cherish them and I hope that one day he looks back on all of these little memories and knows that we celebrated him every season. We embraced every moment. We showed him our love, not by material things but by spending time with him and letting him experience the world.  That's what really matters the most.

{13 months}

Deegan,
You are hilarious. Your personality is the best.
Your faces, your smile, your laugh.
All the best.

So, you finally watch a little tv. You practically run in the room if you hear Mickey Mouse.
You dance to the Hot Dog song.

Well, you dance to EVERYTHING.
Anytime you hear music....dancing. You bend your little knees and dance.
Cutest thing ever.

You are a daddy's boy.
I get just a little sad when you want daddy more that me, but it's ok...you will be back. Boys always need their mamas.

You are so full of life.
We love you more and more everyday.
Love, Mommy.

DEEGAN is ONE!!!

Deegan is ONE!!!
 I can't believe it has been a year already.
Oh and yes, I am a complete slacker on this blogging stuff.
Serious slacker.

 In my defense - I am chasing after a one year old now. Have some pity on me people.
He is EVERYWHERE.

 For any of you that stumble upon this blog and do want to know more or follow our day to day, find me on instagramL heyitsmishi7. All the fun stuff is on there, I promise! So, look me up!

Here are some of the photos I took from Deegan's one year session. I wanted something a little different and his first birthday party was nautical themed so this was perfect. The location was a little hard to find at first but my mom told me about this little park close by and can you believe that this creek was a few feet off the path? Perfection. It was exactly what I was searching for!

My mom and Dean helped make this little pallet boat that I love.
It's amazing what you can do with very little supplies.

And here is our baby boy....I mean toddler.
Wahhhh! That's the sound of me crying.
It just all happened way too fast!

I think that little pouty face is my fav. I love it as much as his smile.
This boy has mastered so many expressions and each one tugs at my mama heart.

He is such a little explorer.
Loves getting into everything. Notices everything.
Smart as can be.

 This year was so full of first times.
I loved and cherished every single one as best as I possibly could.
I can't imagine my life without this little one in it. He has made our little family complete in a way we never could imagined. Although our days are full and our "me" time is about 15 min a day if we are lucky, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love every moment of being Deegan's mama.

Deegan's stats:
22.9 oz | 30 in.
Says: Mama, Dadda, Bubba, "Yum, yum, yum" and bye.
Fav. Foods: Blue berries, bananas, watermelon, strawberries, cheese and any kind of bean. He is pretty serious about beans.
Favorites: Playing outside with sticks, Bath time, and dadda.
Dadda is kinda his fav. right now, but that is okay. It is amazing to watch their relationship grow.
Mama is going to catch those snuggles when she can and cherish each one.

{Mixing it up}

Today was a blah, cold, rainy day.
I can't even explain how ready I am for nice, sunshiny weather. And I am not the only one... I mean just look at him! This kid is ready to play outside!!!
Hurry up Summer!!!!

I am really inspired by Deegan's playfulness lately since he is just learning to play and wanted to mix it up with his wardrobe to show his fun and playful personality off. Oh and I've also been waiting for the perfect outfit for Deegs to wear his H&M hat and this was it!
Isn't it the cutest?

As you can see I am not afraid of mixing it up with colors/patterns too and since it was raining I had the perfect excuse to rock my leopard print rain boots today!

I can't forget....
This was my favorite photo of the day...Deegs and my sis.
Sweetness.
I love them both.

{6 months}

Deegan,
I can not believe that you are 6 months. I know I say that every month but it is so true. These past six months have been the best months of my life. Every bottle made, every diaper changed, every laugh and snuggle has been nothing short of amazing. You are amazing. You bring me so my joy.
Six months is by far my favorite age so far. Although I miss you being so tiny, I am enjoying this stage so much. You are developing your personality and you amaze me everyday. You are so smart, sweet and perfect in every way. You love to laugh. I know because I tickle you every change I get. And you love hugs and kisses. I hope you stay my snuggle bunny baby for a long time!

You are now sitting up and playing with your toys. My favorite mommy moment recently was watching you play with toys and your little friend at daycare for the first time. It made my mama heart happy. You are learning to play and share and making friends. I'm so excited to see you learn and grow.

 I can not wait for the summer! I know that you are going to have so much fun playing outside. You already love to be outside and love the grass. I see a lot of park visits and playing outside in our future!

Oh and you deleted this whole post while I was typing. I had to type it all over again, but I love you anyways.
Love, Mommy.

{5 months}

Deegan,
You are 5 months now. You are getting bigger and bigger everyday but you are still my baby. You still love to cuddle. Sometimes I tickle you just to hear you laugh.

You have the best laugh.

Yes. I took pictures of you crying. You don't like it when mommy can't give you all of her attention. Dishes had to be done little man. Bottles had to be washed. You will understand one day.
And look at those two teeth!!!

You look so different from when you were born. I still look at the videos on my phone of the day you were born. It was truly the best day of my life.

Your eyes are now hazel.
 Just like your Daddy's eyes.
They still turn blue like when you were born if you are wearing blue and they light up when you smile.

You are learning how to sit and play with your toys.
It is just so fun to watch you learn and play. You put everything in your mouth and try to chew on it.
And you drool  and slobber on everything!

 I love you just as much as the day as you were born.
Actually. That is a lie.
I love you more and I know I will love you more everyday.
You are growing up but you are always going to be my sweet baby boy.
Love, Mommy.

{these hugs are contagious}

I must warn you. These hugs are contagious.
Yes, contagious....and I'm not talking about the "oh, he's so cute. His hugs are so contagious, I just can't get enough of them." kinda contagious. I'm talking about my baby boy had his first run-in with the oh so lovely Hand, Foot, & Mouth disease.
*insert tears here.
So, at 9 weeks old we had our very first ER visit.
I am not an ER kinda girl. I don't like going to the ER. I usually go to the little clinic or my doctor, but at 2am when your 2 month old has a fever of 102.8 and they tell you to go to the ER....you go to the ER.
So we did.
It really wasn't a horrible experience. The hospital staff made things super easy and were all very lovely, nice people. We were in and out in about an hour. Easy diagnosis. The bad thing about any virus is that you basically have to wait it out, let it run its course and treat the symptoms. There is no easy fix.
Blah.
Lots of fever and crying. Poor baby's mouth hurt because he got a few blisters on his palette and tongue and drinking his milk hurt. He only would sleep on top of me and would cry if I put him down.
So, I spent a few days at home trying to get baby boy all better.
We are in the clear now. Fever free and smiling.
Thank God.

{9 weeks}

{9 weeks}

Started daycare.
Trying to roll over.
Starting to hold you toys.
Still smiling at mommy & daddy
and kicking those legs non-stop!

It was a big week for us. You started daycare and mommy went back to work. I am so happy that you seem to love daycare. You are happy in the mornings when we bring you and also when we pick you up in the afternoon. You have slept though the night every night this week and mommy sure thanks you for that! It has made for a very happy mommy!

You are still kicking those legs non-stop and trying to roll over. You only can get halfway and get mad when you can't roll all the way over, but it's okay little man because it will happen soon.

Your "puppy brother" Obi is loves spending time with you. He is going to be your best buddy. He loves to be next to you and even give you kisses on your toes.

And yes, I have to admit we let him give you some face kisses on your cheek too.
It is the cutest thing ever.

{project life: birth story}

I am starting to work on my photo album for Deegan. As I am working on it I am realizing that  I want it to be more than just an album filled with photos. I want to journal the memories that are forever linked to the photos. I want to tell our story.

I am really exited about all the little ways I can incorporate this into his album. Here is one example of his birth story. I kept it short and sweet. I wanted to tell the story and the little details but not go too overboard and make it too long.

I also wanted it to be simple enough so that he can read at an early age without too many questions.

I am going to print these as 4x6 photos and put it into the album with the photos of his birth.
I also have screenshots I am going to print of our facebook status' and things that were happening that day.
My husband saying I was a trooper.

 My dad posting that my water broke on facebook.
I love that.
My sister posting that she was an aunt and Deegan was going to have awesome parents.
Those are the moments that I cherish.
Those memories.
They tell our story.
